About Us

Since January 1st, 2025 Harrison (aka Bohl), and I (Ben Carey), have been scouring Brisbane to find the best Indian restaurant. As of today, we’ve visited upwards of 25 establishments, and our sample size is starting to become big enough to do something about.

Our system is simple — we ask the waiter or waitress for two of their favourite curries at the restaurant (or at least what they think is made well). After much confusion, debate, and several Butter Chicken recommendations, we usually end up with something fairly unique. We're easily pleased and enjoy a bit of spice, though sometimes it’s hard to get this across. We also usually order enough rice to share and some naan variant (typically garlic), and occasionally a mango lassi if we’re feeling it — though this isn’t factored into the review.

Scoring is generally based on the average of the ‘protein’ (loosely defined), the rice, the naan, and the actual curry sauce. However, we’ve recently been pivoting towards averaging the scores per curry, plus separate scores for naan and rice — since not all dishes have a clear protein component. We score everything out of 10 to one decimal place, and we try to be fairly harsh with our ratings. This means a 7 is not a bad score at all — and we have plenty in the < 5 region.

If you’re after a personalised recommendation, particularly on the south side of Brisbane, contact me via one of the avenues below — I’d be happy to point you in the right direction.

Curry on.
